LAST weekend’s game against Castleford was one to forget, but today’s #ThrowbackThursday picture looks back at a more memorable fixture for Saints against the same opponents.
But in the second half they swept the hosts away with a remarkable display of flowing rugby that soon overhauled the deficit, with a trademark chip and chase from Neil Holding starting the Saints recovery.
It was something the Great Britain number 7 was noted for…taking on the line but chipping over the line and dashing to collect.
Andy Platt, pictured here, grabbed the second and then after a length of the field intercept from wing Kevin McCormack there was only going to be one winner.
Saints triumphed 26-22 to thrill the Grandstand viewers and move into the next round.
