Hot deal : Sunderland, Bristol City, and Birmingham City must wait to sign a £4 million star.

With regard to the Burnley star, things aren’t going as Birmingham City and other teams would want.

Given that Scott Twine’s future at Burnley is still unknown, Birmingham City will have to wait to sign him.

Scott Parker is reportedly “taking a close look” at Twine, who struggled to secure a spot at Turf Moor under Vincent Kompany. This information comes from Sky Sports writer Ron Walker. In a friendly played behind closed doors this week, the 25-year-old did himself no harm by scoring a hat-trick in 45 minutes against Barnsley.

The newly appointed manager in place wants to have the final say over Twine, despite the fact that Birmingham City, Bristol City, and Sunderland are all apparently eager to recruit him and had been waiting to see what would happen with their management issue. Unless something drastically changes, he could receive a chance in each of Burnley’s preseason fixtures against Celtic, Hearts, Newcastle United, and Cadiz.

Twine spent the first half of the previous season on loan at Hull City following Burnley’s promotion to the Premier League. With 20 starts, Twine finished with four goals and three assists in 26 games with the Tigers.

They decided to terminate the loan even though Twine was playing frequently and Hull was a strong contender for the play-offs. After being loaned out to Bristol City, Twine made ten appearances for the Robins before an injury cut short his stay at Ashton Gate.Bristol City and Burnley have kept in touch over Twine; however, similar to Birmingham and Sunderland, they will now have to wait and see what Burnley intends to do with him. Twine may put Birmingham on hold because, according to the Bristol Post, he trained at Bristol City’s training facility during the off-season.
