Harrison Burrows, a young left-back with promise at Peterborough United, is reportedly on the verge of joining Sheffield United for £18 million. This move will prevent Leeds United from acquiring the player and beat out Birmingham City and Preston North End for his services.
Journalist Alan Nixon announced the arrangement on his Patreon page, revealing that the side that was demoted had defeated rivals from other divisions.
Preston had long been interested in Burrows, and at different times, Birmingham City, Portsmouth, and Leeds United were also rumored to be considering him.
In fact, it has been reported that the Whites made late contact in an attempt to sabotage the Blades’ agreement for the defender.However, United seems to have prevailed, capping off an encouraging transfer window thus far.
Burrows is expected to sign with United, as stated by Nixon. Preston is believed to have rejected United’s bid of up to £18 million.
The sale of Jayden Bogle to Leeds was seen to be crucial to the completion of the agreement, since the Blades’ continuous takeover casts doubt on their immediate financial situation. Before it was formally agreed, Nixon had claimed elsewhere that the Bogle bid was about £21 million, including add-ons. Although the exact amount is still unknown, it is believed that this transaction gave United room to complete the Burrows transfer.
The Whites themselves showed some late movement in their pursuit of Burrows, as TBR Football reported that they had expressed interest in the Peterborough star. However, Nixon’s most recent report, coupled with their recent large expenditure on Bogle, suggests that their fellow Yorkshire side has repelled their advances.

They may have had a heartbreaking season the previous year that earned them a spot among the lowest-performing Premier League teams ever, but they appear to have bounced back rather fast and remain a vibrant environment for young, talented players.
Although the disruptive takeover business continued for much of the summer, they are giving themselves a decent opportunity if Wilder can bring them all together quickly enough to make them into a cohesive squad rather than a group of promising individuals
Burrows’ arrival is expected to be another player crossed off the wish list, covering a necessary void and putting United one step closer to their desired instant promotion back into the Premier League.
