Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has pretty much done it all throughout his decorated career. The one thing he has not done, however, is to represent his country in the Olympics
This is exactly what the former back-to-back NBA MVP will embark on in the coming weeks as he leads Greece to what they’re hoping will be a strong push for the gold medal.

With Greece set to kick off its tournament on Saturday against a powerhouse Canada side, Antetokounmpo could not help but reflect on the journey he took to get to where he is today. In his recent post on X, formerly Twitter, the eight-time All-Star looked back on his humble beginnings.Apr 20, 2022; Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA; Chicago Bulls guard Alex Caruso (6) and Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis A (34) compete for a jump ball in the second half during game two of the first round for the 2022 NBA playoffs at Fiserv Forum. To say that Giannis had a hard life growing up in Sepolia, a neighborhood in the Greek capital of Athens, would be an understatement. Antetokounmpo lived a life of poverty, which makes his rise to the top even more remarkable. Perhaps not even Giannis himself ever dreamed of reaching the heights he already has at this point in his career.
His journey is far from over, though, and this upcoming Olympic stint is yet another crucial step in Giannis’ quest for glory.
