Swedish draft choice of the Bruins relocating to North America

In order to pursue his profession, the sixth-round choice of the Bruins moved significantly closer to Boston.

Loke Johansson is relocating to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from his hometown of Stockholm.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound blueliner Johansson will play for the Moncton Wildcats after the Bruins selected him with the 186th overall choice in the 2024 draft.

Johnson was selected first overall in the QMJHL draft and was a player at the Bruins development camp just after the draft.

Johnson stated, “I hope to play here, grow, and play in Boston someday.”

Gardiner MacDougall, the coach of the Wildcats, stated, “We’re thrilled to add Loke to the team.” He is going to be a big asset to our company. He is very mobile, plays a tough two-way game, and will be challenging to play against in all three zones. We think he’ll have a great chance to improve here in Moncton and in the QMJHL, where I think he’ll be a big player.
