Free immunizations, vision exams, and school supplies will be given to those who register.
The San Antonio Spurs will have their third-annual Back to School Bash at the Frost Bank Center as the academic year draws near.
On Thursday, August 8, from 4 to 7 p.m., kids, parents, and teachers of grades K–12 can pick up school supplies, catch up on vaccines, and get a free eye exam. In addition, there will be haircuts, dental tests, and information booths about extracurricular activities, school registration, and mental health help.
The chief people, impact, and belonging officer of Spurs Sports and Entertainment, Kara Allen, stated in a statement that “we believe in building leaders and legacies where we live, work, play, and learn.”
“Students’ success in and out of the classroom depends on providing teachers and families with necessary resources,” Allen went on. “We are grateful for the opportunity to engage with our community and provide resources for educators, parents, and kids so that they can begin the new school year with confidence and a readiness to grow as a team.”
Attendees must register in advance for the event, which is also sponsored by Frost Bank. Individuals who would want a complimentary haircut must register in advance for a time period.
Students must be accompanied by parents or legal guardians, and teachers must enter the building with a valid teaching ID.
