Castleford Tigers Star On Testimonial Game

-

It’s been confirmed that Castleford Tigers star Joe Westerman will have his testimonial game in 2025 played against former club Hull FC.

Westerman will turn 35 in November and is currently in his 18th season of professional rugby league but will head into a 19th next season.

Only last year the forward signed a two-year extension and it’s now been confirmed that he’ll kick off season 19 with a testimonial game against his former club Hull FC at The Jungle.

It read: Hull FC will face Castleford Tigers at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle in February 2025, as both clubs celebrate the Testimonial of Joe Westerman.

“The fixture will be a part of both sides’ preparations for the 2025 campaign in pre-season, but it will also be an opportunity for two clubs that Westerman has represented to come together and celebrate his career, which has spanned almost two decades.

It’s been confirmed that the fixture will take place on February 1st 2025 at Castleford Tigers’ home The Jungle for a 3 pm kickoff.

Westerman started his career with Castleford Tigers before making the move to Hull FC, making over 100 appearances for the Black and Whites from 2011 to 2015.

Brief spells with Warrington Wolves and Toronto Wolfpack were followed by another stay with FC before he joined Castleford’s rivals Wakefield Trinity. After two years at Belle Vue, he returned to his boyhood club in 2022.

His career has seen him make over 400 appearances and also earn two England caps. He was also named co-captain of Castleford Tigers for the current season, during which he has made 19 appearances.

Castleford Tigers also confirmed the testimonial for their skipper as they took to social media to share the news with a video.
