The Nike Ja 2 Will Be Making Its Retail Debut.

Our initial preview of the Nike Ja 2 “Nightmare” sees Morant rejoin Nike Basketball’s annual Halloween-themed range, having dropped the Ja 1 in a “Halloween” colorway last year.

This time around, a new composition of spooky detailing has been assembled. First off, a silver grill-shaped dubrae reads “MORANT” while the heel hosts what looks to be zombie hands reaching up and a cat eye. As for the color arrangement, it sees “University Red” cover a majority of the sneaker as “Celestial Gold” chimes in at the branding and “Black” stretches around the heel and hits a portion of the midsole.

It’s been well over a year since Ja Morant teamed up with Nike Basketball to introduce the Nike Ja 1, his first signature shoe. The low-top design found much success as hoopers appreciated its slick build as well as it’s accessible $110 USD price point, which made it Nike’s least expensive signature basketball sneaker at the time. While Morant faced some off-court trouble that resulted in a 25-game suspension from the league last season and later faced a season-ending injury to his shoulder, the launch of his second shoe was seemingly delayed. However, we caught a first look at the Nike Ja 2 last month in its “Stargazer” colorway and now have seen a second “Nightmare” pair that is slated to arrive just after the start of the 2024-25 NBA season.

At the time of writing, Nike has not yet announced when the Nike Ja 2 will be making its retail debut. Stay tuned for updates, including official imagery of the silhouette, as this “Nightmare” colorway is currently expected to drop just ahead of Halloween, landing on shelves on October 25 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a $130 USD price point.
