Three Birmingham City players on transfer notice after Manny Longelo seals exit

Juninho Bacuna heads a group of players Birmingham City are looking to offload before the end of the transfer window.

Curacao international Bacuna, 27, appeared to be on the verge of leaving Blues in early July when Sivasspor came calling but he couldn’t agree a switch to Turkey. Saudi side Al-Wehda haven’t yet been able to finalise a deal for Bacuna either.

The midfielder is surplus-to-requirements at Blues, despite registering 15 goal contributions last season, and Emil Hansson has been given his number seven shirt. Blues boss Chris Davies has moved on and a route back into the fold looks unlikely – even if Bacuna doesn’t secure a move away before Friday’s deadline.

Blues are also willing to offload youngsters George Hall and Josh Williams. Hall hasn’t featured in a first team game under Davies and Blues are open to offers.

A loan move for Hall has been mooted but a permanent transfer cannot be ruled out either if the right offer presents itself to Blues’ powerbrokers. The 20-year-old played fewer than 200 minutes for Blues last season due to a series of hamstring injuries and doubts have arisen over where he would fit into the team under Davies in the long-term.

Williams, meanwhile, hasn’t played a first team game for Blues in almost two years since bursting onto the scene under John Eustace in 2022. Now 21, Williams needs to play regularly after struggling on loan at Cheltenham Town in the first half of last season.

As always at the tail-end of transfer windows, there are moving parts and other departures cannot be ruled out, but the aforementioned trio fall into the surplus-to-requirements category at present. Siriki Dembele is among those whose futures aren’t certain but Davies has been keen to work with the Ivorian, whereas Bacuna, Hall and Williams don’t form part of his plans.
