As reported via FT, former Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels has made a decision on his future.
It has been well documented that since departing the Westfalenstadion at the end of the last season, Hummels has been in high demand across Europe.
With interested parties in the Premier League, Serie A, La Liga, and Bundesliga, as to where the 35-year-old would be plying his trade this season remained a mystery.
However, it appears that despite interest from RCD Mallorca, Bologna, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Bayer Leverkusen, the 2014 World Cup winner has elected to join Real Sociedad.
It is understood that in the coming days, Hummels will sign a one-year deal with the Spanish outfit, while also having the option of extending his stay at the club for an extra season.
Having been an ever-present in the Bundesliga across his entire career, this will be the defender’s first move away from Germany, as he looks to help Real Sociedad compete domestically as well as in the Europa League.
