Blackburn Rovers ‘willing to compromise’ to seal two Birmingham City transfers

John Eustace is keen on signing two of his former Birmingham City colleagues for Blackburn Rovers.

The Lancashire club are reportedly eager to seal the signatures of two Blues players before next Friday’s transfer deadline.

Journalist Alan Nixon reports, via his Patreon page, that Eustace wants to bring Siriki Dembele and George Hall to Ewood Park. It’s claimed Blackburn are unwilling to pay the £1.5 million that Birmingham want for Dembele but are confident they can reach a compromise.

Rovers are also interested in bringing in Hall, who Eustace was a big fan of at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park. The 20-year-old midfielder, once heavily linked with Leeds United, has finally returned to action following a host of hamstring issues – but he’s not in Chris Davies’ plans for the season ahead.

It’s understood that Birmingham believe Hall has the potential to be a great footballer but Davies is unwilling to provide guarantees over immediate game time. Blues have been searching for a loan move for the former England Under-19 international, so that could be a potential avenue for Blackburn to explore.

Dembele’s case, meanwhile, is an interesting one. The winger appeared to be on his way out of Birmingham when neither Tony Mowbray or Gary Rowett fancied him in their Championship lineups, but Davies has instilled some renewed faith.

The former AFC Bournemouth man’s work rate was an issue last season but Davies appears to have motivated him to run the hard yards for Blues. Dembele, albeit a rotational option, is in Birmingham’s plans for the rest of the campaign but a good enough offer could be enough to pry him away from the Second City.
