The NBA 2K25 ratings for the top 10 players in this year’s game have officially been released a week ahead of release. Nikola Jokic leads all NBA players on the rating board with a 97 overall.

The margins are slim, as the three-time MVP has the same rating as the three players who trail him. Luka Doncic is officially No. 2 with the same rating and is followed by Giannis Antetokounmpo at No. 3.

The full top 10 features other NBA superstars such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and more.

  1. Nikola Jokic — 97
  2. Luka Doncic — 97
  3. Giannis Antetokounmpo — 97
  4. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander — 96
  5. Joel Embiid — 96
  6. LeBron James — 95
  7. Stephen Curry — 95
  8. Jayson Tatum — 95
  9. Kevin Durant — 94
  10. Anthony Davis — 94

It’s hard to argue with the placement of the top 10. While many are upset that players like Anthony Edwards didn’t make the top 10, the players here are all coming off incredible seasons. In addition, the name-value of these stars rings out, so they were bound to be protected by being put in the top 10 of NBA 2K25’s ratings.

One personal qualm from my side is the two Lakers stars being rated at a 95 and 94 respectively. First, Anthony Davis outplayed LeBron last season, as evidenced by Davis making the All-NBA Second Team to LeBron’s Third Team. Also, Davis was a Defensive Player of the Year candidate, so maybe he should have the same overall as James if not a higher one.

Both Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Joel Embiid will feel hard done by being left out of the top three, with the pair being given a 96 rating. Embiid’s lack of Playoff success and injury concerns last season along with Shai being a relatively new face atop the NBA likely affected their overall ratings.

Jokic is the reigning MVP, who averaged 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 9.0 assists last season. He’s won three MVPs in the last four seasons, with Jaren Jackson Jr. believing Jokic’s NBA 2K rating is lower than it should be.

“(7 overall is No. 1? There are no 98s? Can you even get to that? You really gotta be hooping to get to that… I wish I had three MVPs and you give me a 97. I’d low-key be mad.”

Doncic solidified his status as a perennial MVP candidate and eventual Finals MVP last season by leading the upstart Mavericks to the NBA Finals. He won the scoring title in the regular season, averaging 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 9.8 assists. After that, he took the team to a shock Finals appearance, with the 25-year-old expected to continue to get better heading into next season.

Giannis might have faded from people’s memories but he averaged 30.4 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists last season on an incredible 61.1% from the field. It was one of the most statistically impressive seasons in recent memory but went to waste amidst upheaval and injuries on the Bucks last season.
