Injury Update For Friday’s Clash At Castleford Tigers, Hull Fc

Hull FC are expecting to have Ben Reynolds fit and available for Friday’s clash at Castleford Tigers.

Hull Live has been told that the half-back, who has signed on loan for the rest of the season, has progressed well from a wrist injury that kept him out against London Broncos, with the 30-year-old likely to play a part in the West Yorkshire clash.

The club are also expecting Tiaki Chan to be available against Castleford. The 23-year-old arrived on an initial two-week loan, but it is understood that the two clubs will now review the situation on a week-to-week basis.

Four Hull FC players featured on loan in the Championship on Sunday afternoon, with both clubs, Bradford Bulls and York Knights, tasting victory. The Black and Whites first confirmed a loan move for Jayden Okunbor earlier this month, with Liam Tindall following suit. Both players started on the right edge for the Bulls in their 28-10 victory over Sheffield Eagles, with Tindall on the wing and Okunbor at centre. The latter found the try line in the first half, collecting a chip kick to score. He also got the club’s official Man of the Match award, which will be a welcome confidence boost for the overseas player.

Elsewhere, Franklin Pele and Davy Litten featured for York in their 40-18 victory over Halifax Panthers. The Knights were far too strong, with Litten getting over for one of their seven tries. He featured at full-back, with Pele also playing his part off the bench.

Hull FC reserves were good value for their 54-0 victory over London Broncos on Saturday. Francis Cummins’ side scored ten tries, with Logan Moy starring in the win. The likes of Denive Balmforth also impressed, scoring two himself, while Will Gardiner also played huge minutes in the middle of the field alongside Jack Ashworth, who made his return from injury, as did Harvey Barron on the wing.

All in all, it was a team performance. That’s pretty cliché, but it was a real easy-on-the-eye display, with some great rugby league played and, at the other end, a strong defensive desire to keep London out. The win was also Hull’s fourth in six games this year, and puts them second in the reserves table.

Hull FC’s academy side held off Bradford Bulls a couple of Thursdays ago to win 26-22 at Odsal. Will Hutchinson scored a brace of tries, with Joe Ward, Lennon Clark, and Callum Kemp also crossing over. However, Francis Cummins’ team, who had a numerical disadvantage after Owen Haldenby was yellow-carded, had to dig deep late on, with a late Bulls fightback almost snatching victory. The academy are now three from five this year and are in check for a third consecutive top four finish.

Hull FC’s women’s side have scored 110 points in their last two games, hammering Orrell St James 56-4 before defeating Leigh Miners Rangers 44-0. Jack Coates’ side are currently third in the Women’s League One competition with four wins from their five matches so far this year.

Hull FC’s wheelchair side lost 78-6 to a strong Catalans Dragons team in the Challenge Cup this month. The Black and Whites were up against some of the best players in the world, including the majority of the French national team, not to mention England star Seb Bechara. They open their Super League account against Wigan Warriors next month.

Scott Taylor completed the Leeds Marathon on Sunday 12 May, raising money for both Rub Burrow and Craig Eskrett. Posting on social media after the run, Taylor said: “Job done! I gave it my all, and the main thing was to finish it.

“Unfortunately, my body let me down, but I battled round in just over five hours to the finish. I always wanted to do it faster, but it was about raising money for two true gents, and I hit my fundraising target. I can confirm no more marathons and time to rest up and let the body heal after recent retirement and into this.” Taylor’s fundraising page can be found
