The Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics are slated to face off in a battle that many fans are excited about.
By many accounts, the Celtics were expected to make it to the Finals, but heading into the postseason, the Mavericks certainly weren’t a favorite.
There are several off-court storylines between these two teams, with one of the most significant surrounding Kyrie Irving and his interesting history with the Celtics.
However, Kristaps Porzingis also has a history with the Mavericks, and he didn’t exactly leave the team on good terms.
There were rumors that he and Luka Doncic battled a lot within the locker room, which he was asked about in a recent press conference, as shared by Noa Dalzell on Twitter.
“It just didn’t work out. I think it was-yeah. I don’t know. I’m not even thinking about that right now. I’m focused on the job ahead. We can talk about that later,” Porzingis said.
Kristaps Porzingis didn’t want to get into the weeds of his relationship with Luka / his Mavericks tenure today:

He would much rather focus on the task at hand than talk about his relationship with Doncic, especially since he has missed several games due to injury.
Porzingis could be an X factor in this series for the Celtics, even though they have learned to play without him for the past several weeks.
It will be interesting to see how his former team defends him, and if they can stop him down the stretch if healthy.
