Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic revealed that Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens had the most hostile environment he has been to in his career.
In an already-illustrious career, Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic has played in many atmospheres throughout Europe and the United States of America.
Hailing from the EuroLeague, which is known for its passionate fans and intense atmospheres, Doncic experienced firsthand hostile crowds in Europe.
When asked the most hostile crowd he has seen so far, Doncic had a clear answer: the Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens crowd.
“Yeah, it was. I remember it; it was the quarterfinals of the EuroLeague against Panathinaikos in [Athens],” recalled Doncic to Grant Afseth. “The crowd went crazy. They started winning 20-0. Imagine that,” he concluded with a smile.
Doncic is referring to the 2017-18 EuroLeague season, where Real Madrid eliminated PAO 3-1 in the playoffs and eventually clawed its way to a championship.
That year, before his NBA debut, the Slovenian wonder was named the regular season and Final Four MVP for outstanding performances with Real Madrid.
