Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki commented on a potential one-on-one between his prime self and current Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic.
“Dirk in his prime and Luka, one-on-one, for 100 million German marks,” Shaq led the discussion before being corrected to “Deutsche marks” by Nowitzki with a laugh.
“You know, is it a ‘Make it, take it’? Because I think neither one of us could get a stop,” explained Nowitzki. “Who’s got the ball first?” he said to make a point.
“I know for a fact that I would have a hard time guarding him. He’s got the whole package. Like I mentioned earlier, he can drive me both ways; he’s got the step-backs,” stated the German forward.
“But I do know in my prime, he would have problems guarding me as well, so that’s a matchup with a lot of buckets and not a lot of stops,” he concluded.
Both Doncic and Nowitzki have only played for the Mavericks in their NBA career so far. Nowitzki won the NBA championship in 2011 and became Finals MVP, while Doncic is currently playing his first NBA Finals this season.
