A new update about the £4 million+ transfer target for Birmingham City

One of Birmingham City’s summer transfer goals may not materialize as planned, as an aspirational Championship team looks to exchange players.

The Blues have been busy throughout the summer transfer window, bringing in a number of well-known players, including Marc Leonard, Willum Willumson, and Alfie May. Early in the transfer window, it was claimed that they had a budget of about £20 million, with the goal of making a first-time return to the Championship.

They might, however, miss out on a player connected to the team in June, according to rumors. It was reported that Sunderland and Bristol City were in competition with the Blues to recruit Burnley’s Scott Twine, who is currently in talks with the Clarets on a major trade.

An exchange for Twine?
Bristol City and Tommy Conway are reportedly negotiating a trade that would send Scott Twine and Luke McNally to Ashton Gate. This information comes from Bristol Live. Regarding a possible trade for Conway, Bristol City had previously replied to Middlesbrough; the structure of a £5 million bid, however, proved to be problematic.

Twine had previously been on loan at the Robins, and it is said that Liam Manning is a big fan of the player. He made ten appearances, scoring twice, and the Championship team is reportedly focused in getting him back.

Does Birmingham City lose this?
It’s unlikely because this link was posted a while ago, and it seems the League One team has moved on. Marc Leonard’s arrival will significantly close the gap left by Twine, even though they are not precisely the same. I doubt the Blues will have slept much after losing this match, given their budget and level of ambition.
