It won’t be long until the NBA season begins.
There has been a lot of sporting action to follow because of the Olympics. Since the summer months are typically the most boring, it’s great for sports enthusiasts who live and breathe the game. With so many activities to attend, it’s easy to forget that the NBA season will soon begin to pick up steam. After more than three months without a basketball game, the San Antonio Spurs will play their first game of the season on October 22 in just over two months.
First practices and media days are in less than two months if training camps commence on the same day as they did the previous year. Last season, the season kicked off on October 3 unless you were a member of an overseas team, in which case the season began on September 27. Fans still don’t know their team’s schedule as the season draws near, but that should soon change.
The schedule should be made available by the NBA in around two weeks.
Fans who purchased single games or season tickets should prepare to schedule their attendance at specific games. Based on historical data, the NBA has a preference for releasing the schedule in the middle of August. On Wednesday, August 17 of the previous year, on Friday, August 18 of the current season, and on Friday, August 20 of 2021, it was made public.
Based on past releases, it looks like the schedule for this year will be announced either on Wednesday, August 21, or on Friday, August 16. The NFL’s ability to make everything feel like an event is something that the NBA has been attempting to emulate. Because of the quantity of games, it’s a specialty that the NFL finds simpler. There are just 17 games in a season, so each one seems significant. Expect an NBA schedule announcement television show special to air that day, discussing the games fans will be most excited about. That hasn’t prevented the NBA from seeking to tighten its grip on the market. You should expect the new-look Spurs and Victor Wembanyama to be involved in many of them.
