breaking news : OVER AN ALLEGED VIOLATION OF THE SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY, NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor was arrested.

2011 saw the addition of the former linebacker for the New York Giants to the sex offender registry.

NFL Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor was detained in Florida on July 17 after a felony warrant was obtained for his arrest on the grounds that he had broken the conditions of his registration as a sex offender by allegedly failing to declare a change in location. Taylor turned himself in, and the Pembroke Pines Police Department reports that he posted bail and was freed on July 18.

Taylor’s lawyer, Mark Eiglarsh, told The Athletic that his client will be entering a not guilty plea and that the arrest was the result of a “misunderstanding.”

“Just like in the prior instance with the same accusations, Mr. Taylor did not intentionally commit any crimes. There has been a serious miscommunication in this case, Eiglarsh informed the publication. “We are optimistic that Mr. Taylor will once again receive a favorable outcome after the prosecutors have had a chance to examine the exculpatory evidence that proves his innocence.”

Taylor was charged with minor sexual misconduct in 2011 after he was found guilty of recruiting an underage sex worker. As per NBC News, he was arrested in December 2021 on the same allegation. This led to his registration as a sex offender. The girl said she was assaulted and made to go to Taylor’s New York hotel room. Fox News reports that Taylor’s defense at the time was that he didn’t know the girl was a minor. According to Taylor, the girl informed him she was 19.

Despite being inducted into both the New York Giants Ring of Honor and the Hall of Fame, the 65-year-old Taylor’s career has been marred by multiple scandals since then. In the end, Yahoo claims that Taylor’s sentencing trial for the 2011 event resulted in his classification as a level one sex offender, meaning that no online database contained his picture. Taylor’s native state of Florida also sentenced him to six years on probation. Former Hall of Fame linebacker for the New York Giants Lawrence Taylor was sentenced yesterday for engaging in sexual relations with Christina Fierro, a 16-year-old prostitute, at a Holiday Inn in Rockland County in 2010. Taylor gave $300 to the teen’s pimp.

Taylor claims that the sex with the kid was consensual, according to the NY Post. He entered a guilty plea to two misdemeanors: using a prostitute as a means of obtaining sex. In addition to receiving a six-year probationary term, he will have his name put to the national registry of sexual offenders.

Now 19 and married, Fierro is suing Taylor for an undisclosed sum.
