Castleford Tigers Player Ratings As They  Held Firm To Claim A Win Over Hull FC

Castleford Tigers held firm to claim a 39-20 win over Hull FC at the MKM Stadium. There was little riding on the contest, with both sides out of contention for the play-offs, but the Tigers managed to run in six tries in East Yorkshire to pile the misery on their hosts.

Innes Senior got the scoreboard ticking over at the MKM Stadium as the winger was on hand to capitalise on a large overlap and touch down inside the opening few minutes of the contest.

Hull managed to hit back through Ligi Sao, but the Samoan’s effort wasn’t enough to swing momentum the home side’s way as Castleford touched down on three occasions in relatively quick succession. Rowan Milnes put the Tigers back in front with a solo effort, evading Hull defenders to touch down, before Liam Watts broke the line to put Jenson Windley over.

Tex Hoy added to his former club’s misery as he combined with Will Tate down Hull’s right before collecting a looping ball back inside and touching down. That was enough to see the Tigers 24-6 up and cruising before Hull sparked into life.

Harvey Barron pulled one back as he touched down in the corner and just before the break he repeated the feat, collecting a Jack Charles pass over the top to collect a brace on the day.

Hull still had plenty of work to do in order to launch a comeback but the impact of Herman Ese’ese in the second half helped bring them to within four as his pass out of the back put Carlos Tuimavave over.

The Tigers managed to hold out, though, and they all but made sure of the points when Sylvester Namo touched down with 13 minutes remaining and Milnes dropped the one-pointer to hammer that home. Hoy bagged another late one.
