Could This Be The ‘Halloween’ Version Of Ja Morant’s New Signature Sneaker?

It’s only been a week since the best look yet at Ja Morant’s second Nike signature sneaker appeared online, and now we have a look at what likely could be a new holiday-themed iteration of the Ja 2.

Early images surfaced today of a new Nike Ja 2 which is reportedly nicknamed “Nightmare.” Colored in a bright red upper, the shoe’s lateral printed and medial embroidered Swoosh logos don metallic gold, as does the tongue “Ja” logo and a special heel detail specific to this pair. The seemingly Halloween-themed look is decked out in a number of unique details that separate it from the previously seen “Stargazer” colorway.

Unlike the wavy lines of that shoe, the upper of this “Nightmare” Ja 2 features a more erratic pattern resembling claw marks. The fuzzy heel of the shoe features embroidery of zombie-styled hands, with a gold eyeball appearing at the top. The toe box of the “Nightmare” Ja 2 includes a fang lace lock spelling out Morant’s surname.

These detailed shots also reveal new text on the sole of the Ja 2 reading “for the underdogs who have the dawg in them.” Further outsole easter eggs include the names of Morant’s family members: his daughter Kaari, sister Teniya and his mother and father, Jamie and Tee.

Other notable releases expected this spooky season include the Nike Kobe 5 Protro “X-ray” and a new Air Jordan 1 Low with light-up details. Readers can expect more Halloween-themed sneakers to be revealed in the coming weeks.

There are currently no confirmed launch details for the Nike Ja 2, but an official announcement should be coming soon. As of now, the model is on track to debut this fall for a retail price of $120, with this “Nightmare” colorway set to release just ahead of Halloween on October 25 in full family sizing.
