Doctor Gives A New Shocking Update On Knee Injury

-

The doctor who operated on the Serbian champion has released incredible updates on Nole’s health, which highlight how the Djokovic made the impossible in Paris

The knee injury suffered at Roland Garros forced him to undergo surgery which will probably prevent him from playing at Wimbledon, but Novak Djokovic played a heroic tournament in Paris. After withdrawing from the Parisian Major, the Serbian superstar immediately underwent meniscus surgery and will have to observe absolute rest for at least three weeks. Almost certainly, Nole will have to miss the Wimbledon tournament, as I reminded you at the beginning of the article.

Antoine Girometta, the doctor who operated on the Serbian tennis player, gave an interview to l’Equipe revealing Nole’s true condition.

“There was a certain urgency, Djokovic had to be operated on immediately. Considering the injury, I think what Djokovic did on the court was extraordinary, 99% of people would have gone to the emergency room,” he explained. Nole, on the other hand, continued and even won his match after more than four and a half hours of challenging Cerundolo.

Regarding the injury, the doctor continued: “I have been transparent with his team and with Novak, it will depend on how his knee reacts.”

With Wimbledon starting on July 1st, the Serbian tennis player’s presence appears very complicated at the moment. Djokovic’s adventure at Roland Garros therefore ended in the worst possible way. The Serbian champion played a good tournament but had to give up due to a physical problem suffered during the match with the Argentine tennis player Cerundolo.

Djokovic was injured at the beginning of the second set but despite this he managed to hold on until the end and even won the match. A great performance, heroic from a physical point of view, but which forced Nole to withdraw from the tournament the following day, leaving the quarter-finals prematurely and effectively announcing his withdrawal from the number one position in the world.

Djokovic could only go to the final to defend his lead but now he had to leave the field to Jannik Sinner, the new number 1 in the ATP ranking. Some initially even questioned the Serbian champion’s physical condition, but immediately after his retirement they had to recant. What Nole did was epic, regardless of the result and Dr. Girometta’s words only underline the stoicness of the Serbian champion.
