Former Kentucky Wildcats Standout To Sign Contract Extension Worth Over $200 Million

Let’s just say a huge payday is going to be in store for the former Kentucky Wildcats standout. Tyrese Maxey, who earned his first trip to the All-Star Game in 2024, averaged a career-high 25.9 points per game.

Over the last four years, he has ascended into one of the best point guards in the NBA, going from 8 to 17.5 to 20.3 and now at 25.9 points per game. He’s also doing this with a high level of efficiency, shooting 46.8% from the field for his career.

Couple that all together, and Maxey could be eyeing a lucrative new deal in the coming months. One that will be in the nine-figure range and could even top $200 million.

“The team also is expected to re-sign Maxey, an All-Star point guard, to a five-year, $205 million deal,” The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Keith Pompey wrote.

Since the Ben Simmons and James Harden fiasco, Maxey has cemented himself as a pivotal member of the 76ers roster. Having been awarded the 2023-24 Most Improved Player, Maxey continued to bloom in the playoffs, scoring 46 points in a single game on the road against the New York Knicks.

His ability to score from anywhere on the court and his lightning-fast quickness make him virtually impossible to guard. At just 23, Maxey will be the future in the City of Brotherly Love, assuming the two sides can work out the kinks of this new deal.
