Giannis Antetokounmpo On Kevin Durant

While speaking to 2025 NBA draft prospects Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper, Giannis Antetokounmpo showed them why Kevin Durant is unstoppable offensively.

Giannis Antetokounmpo met with 2025 NBA Draft prospects Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper recently. During the meeting, Antetokounmpo explained to them how the great offensive players in the NBA pick their ‘kill’ spots, and why that can be so dangerous. Giannis specifically highlighted Kevin Durant throughout the meeting and picked out his danger spots.

“I know you probably look at it as a basketball court. But it’s not a basketball court. All the great ones; Kobe, KD, MJ, even LeBron, D-Wade – there are spots, right?.. It’s up to you guys how you get to your spots, you just have to figure out what the kill spots are.”

The way Giannis spoke about Kevin Durant’s offensive abilities shows how much respect he has for the former MVP. Durant and Giannis famously faced off during the 2021 NBA playoffs, in what many consider one of the greatest series of all time.

Durant and Giannis were sensational during that matchup, but it was Giannis who was able to overcome Durant, who had lost both his teammates to injury by that point. Regardless, Durant and Giannis surely gained a healthy respect for each other after that year.

While KD is no longer in the Eastern Conference, any potential for a Giannis vs. Durant matchup is absolute box office, with fans expecting the two stars to hold nothing back.

Giannis Antetokounmpo undoubtedly had the best playoff run of his career in 2021, as after beating Durant and the Nets, he went on to win the NBA championship. But since then, postseason success has been hard to come by for the Greek Freak and the Milwaukee Bucks.

Since their 2021 NBA championship win, the Bucks have won just one playoff series in the last three seasons, not making it out of the first round in the last two years.

Granted, this past year, a lot of their injury problems cost them the chance to face off against the Indiana Pacers at full strength, but that will not ease the disappointment they faced.

Antetokounmpo, now with one full year under his belt playing with Damian Lillard, will be hoping to return to form next season, and help the Bucks show why they should be in the conversation for championship-caliber teams in the Eastern Conference.

One Bucks executive believes that a healthy trio of Giannis, Lillard, and Khris Middleton will be unbeatable in the playoffs.

The Bucks, despite their incredible duo of Giannis and Lillard, are still an outside bet to reach the NBA Finals out of the Eastern Conference, thanks to the stacked East that features the Celtics, Knicks, and 76ers.

But their experience playing at the highest stage of the NBA cannot be forgotten and might play a massive role in the playoffs next season.
