TNT may soon lose the rights to broadcast the NBA, including Inside the NBA. In turn, Milwaukee Bucks superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo opened up about the significance of the show and what it truly means to him.

Inside the NBA is the iconic postgame show for NBA on TNT, known for its witty banter, insightful analysis, and memorable moments. Debuting in 1989, the show has evolved over the years, becoming one of the most popular and acclaimed sports analysis programs on television.

Hosted by the charismatic Ernie Johnson Jr., the show features a talented ensemble of analysts, including NBA legends Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley, and four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal . Over the decades, the program has welcomed other notable figures, such as Magic Johnson, Reggie Miller, and Chris Webber, all contributing to its dynamic and engaging nature.

With its consistently high ratings and 19 Sports Emmy Awards, Inside the NBA has solidified its reputation as a must-watch destination for NBA fans. The show’s enduring popularity and the longevity of its core team have made it an integral part of the basketball viewing experience, offering a unique and entertaining perspective on the sport.

Like many fans of the sport, Giannis Antetokounmpo has expressed his support of the TNT show. In a post shared by Bleacher Report on Instagram, the Milwaukee Bucks All-Star forward opened up on what the Inside the NBA meant to him.

TNT has recently matched Amazon’s bid for NBA broadcasting rights, setting the stage for a potential legal battle. The decision came after the NBA notified TNT that it intended to accept other offers. Despite the “matching rights provision” in their current agreement, the league’s interpretation of the clause was that TNT may not be able to match Amazon’s offer.

The situation could get complicated, as Amazon needs time to set up its production, while any lawsuit could delay the process. A potential resolution could involve a four-partner deal, with ESPN/ABC, NBC, Amazon, and TNT sharing the rights.

At this point in time, there’s no telling where the league’s broadcasting rights will end up. By extension, the beloved show is in danger of just fading away into the sunset if there won’t be any plans to keep it and the hosts. In any case, the fate of Inside the NBA and all those who follow the it, including Antetokounmpo, is hanging in the balance.
