High Price Paid For Poor Discipline By Castleford Tiger

-

Castleford paid a heavy price for two moments of ill discipline in a 30-22 defeat at Salford The Tigers spent 20 minutes of their Super League clash down to 12 men as first Liam Horne and then Sylvester Namo were sin-binned for high tackles.

And while the Papua New Guinea duo were off the field Salford scored three of their five tries.

It was a first defeat in four matches for Castleford while for Salford the hard-fought win revived their play-off prospects after a pair of defeats.

Jason Qareqare’s score put Cas ahead, but Nene MacDonald levelled and Ryan Brierley put the hosts 12-6 in front at half-time.

The game then turned on its head early in the second period when Qareqare raced in for his second try and Elie El-Zakhem also crossed as the visitors moved four points clear.

But Ethan Ryan’s interception try restored Salford’s lead before Ollie Partington and Chris Hankinson sealed the win, despite Luis Johnson’s late score in reply.
