How Jamal Crawford Described Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic

Newzlines

Ever since he came into the league, Luka Doncic has showing how dominant he has been on the offensive end of the court.

Even former Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford sees how great he has been by dropping the perfect description for the Slovenian star.

Doncic first made himself known when the Atlanta Hawks selected him using the third overall pick in the 2018 Draft then traded right away to the Dallas Mavericks for All-Star guard Trae Young. Right then and there, the Slovenian guard dropped his Rookie of the Year campaign with averages of 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest.

Over the years, Doncic got better as the Mavericks tried to build a championship-worthy roster around him. At first, Dallas attempted to pair him with Latvian big man Kristaps Porzingis but that didn’t work out in the end. Fortunately, the front office’s high-risk move of acquiring Kyrie Irving from the Brooklyn Nets paid off as the duo will soon make their first NBA Finals appearance together.

This year, Doncic was on another level as he and the Mavericks trampled on their opponents in the Western Conference. Over the course of 17 playoff games, the Dallas star averaged 28.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, 8.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per contest.

Throughout these playoff games, Doncic often played in front of a hostile crowd, leading him to put on a show for them. This prompted former NBA star and three-time Sixth Man of the Year awardee Jamal Crawford to call him a gangster, as seen in a video shared by All The Smoke Productions on X.

Even though he’s playing out of his mind now, Doncic still finished third in the MVP race behind Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic and Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Nevertheless, his playoff performance this year is shaping up to be one for the ages.

The Dallas Mavericks only need four more wins to overcome Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals. If he does that, Doncic can become more gangster than he already is.
