How Klay Thompson Is Key To Mavs’ Title Chase Says Doncic

Luka Doncic isn’t messing around this season and only has one goal in mind, made even more reachable with Klay Thompson on the team.

He was asked to summarize Dallas’ approach this season. To which he answered, “Championship. That’s the goal.”

“When me and Kai, when we have the ball, you basically can’t help off of Klay,” Doncic said. “Because if you leave him wide open, he’s going to make it. So I think the spacing is going to be crucial for us, but more of that, I will tell you after a couple games.”

“I feel like our dreams can be possible because he’s here now,” Irving said, who played a huge role in the recruitment of Thompson. “He’s added a great value to our championship aspirations.”

Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green addresses reporters Monday at media day and shares his expectations for the upcoming season.

Thompson doesn’t expect to jell straight away and explains how he’ll have to get used to a system vastly different to the Warriors’.

“From an X’s and O’s standpoint, I’ll have to adjust to maybe playing off such good creators,” Thompson said. “In Golden State, it was very motion-based offense. But I mean, just being able to play with Luka the last few days, his ability in the pick-and-roll is maybe the best I’ve ever seen. It’ll be fun to play with him in those sets because he draws so much attention and he gets so many open looks for the perimeter. So I’ll be there to knock them down.

“I think it will take a couple weeks just to get used to this new system, but luckily opening night is not until [Oct. 24]. So this preseason might be the most important one I’ve had in so many years, and I can’t wait to get going tomorrow and learn this system. But I do know I’m a hooper, so I can adjust accordingly and I look forward to doing that.”

In what is a total dream come true for LeBron James, he had his son Bronny by his side at Lakers Media Day on Monday and it was pretty cool.

Early on in the day, Bronny came up to LeBron at the end of his interview with Spectrum and goes “Ew” as he turned around and saw James Jr. approaching him.

Last week, Lakers GM Rob Pelinka shared with the media that LeBron schooled his son during practice, then trash talked him and Bronny got a chance to share his side of the story.

“Alright, in all seriousness, I looked at the film and he did step out of bounds,” he said. “But I’m not gonna go there. I’m not gonna go there right now.”

To which LeBron replied, “What do you mean you’re not going to go there right now? You just went there.”

Bronny tried to argue his point, but LeBron hilariously quipped back, “Man, you’re a rookie anyways.
