Hull Fc Vs Castleford Tigers Team News With Four Doubts And 14 Ruled

Hull FC will be looking to pick up just their fourth win of the Super League season this afternoon when they take on Castleford Tigers.

The Black and Whites have struggled for traction all season and currently sit level on points with bottom of the table side London Broncos.

As such, they need a win in order to reduce the possibility of picking up the wooden spoon this season, but with just four games to go they could be forgiven for having one eye on next season. The same can be said for Castleford who are one place and seven points above Hull in the league table.

Craig Lingard’s side are someway short of the play-off picture and as the season winds down they have very little to play for. Pride is on the line for both teams, though, and they’ll be keen to pick up two points in what is a Yorkshire derby. Here’s a look at the team news heading into this afternoon’s game.

Hull FC

The Black and Whites have been boosted by the return to fitness of Danny Houghton and Jack Walker. Houghton, who has announced his plans to retire at the end of the season, has been struggling with a calf injury but he’ll hope to be fit enough to be involved in what would be his 450th appearance for the club.

Unfortunately for Simon Grix, FC will be without Jed Cartwright, who drops out with a head knock, while Ed Chamberlain has picked up a shoulder injury. They join a list of absentees that includes: Liam Sutcliffe (foot), Jake Trueman (calf), Davy Litten (knee) Nick Staveley (knee), Charlie Severs (shoulder), King Vuniyayawa (ankle).

Castleford Tigers

The Tigers have welcomed Cain Robb back into the fold after the hooker made a rapid recovery from a neck issue. Should he be passed fit to play, he’ll provide the Tigers with an enormous boost. George Lawler is included after overcoming a wrist injury, while Muizz Mustapha is named in the squad, too.

Jacob Miller and Luis Johnson are among those to drop out. The Tigers will also be without Sam Hall (hamstring), Josh Simm (shoulder), Sam Wood (shoulder), George Griffin (head) Josh Hodson and Louis Senior.
