Matt Parcell is also absent from the squad. The hooker played longer minutes than usual in the victory over Huddersfield Giants on Friday, coming on in the first half for Jez Litten. However, he will not feature at the Jungle in any capacity.
Peters admitted in his press conference that some players were dealing with niggles, and while Parcell and Batchelor are the only two now confirmed not to feature, it remains to be seen if any others will be unavailable.
As a result, Peters has recalled Joe Burgess, fit again after missing the last three games due to concussion and knee issues. There’s also a place in the extended squad for Zach Fishwick, who is now in contention to feature in Super League for the first time since September 2022. He has, more recently, been impressing for the club’s reserve grade side.
