Jeremy Swayman Embraced Boston With Tim Wakefield’s Help

The Boston Pride Hockey Club and Boston Bruins held their fourth annual Boston Pride Hockey Scrimmage last week at Warrior Ice Arena.

Boston Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman truly took a step forward in several areas last season.

He performed at an elite level in the postseason, he consistently empowered his team while speaking with the media and took on an understanding of giving back to the Boston community.

The young goaltender credited that progress to a meeting with a Red Sox legend and a charitable inspiration.

Swayman stopped by the NESN set at Fenway Park on Wednesday during the WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio Telethon and shared his memory of his one meeting with the late Tim Wakefield. That conversation clearly had an impact on Swayman as he grew up with the city of Boston.NESN is consistently one of the top-rated regional sports networks in the country with award-winning Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins coverage.
