Just in : Which rookie for the Cowboys will be the most successful in 2024?

The fan base is paying careful attention to the Dallas Cowboys rookie class as the 2024 regular season approaches. It’s understandable why after a dull draft class performance in 2023.

These supporters are accustomed to seeing their rookies achieve great success. For many years, the Cowboys have been among the league’s best selecting teams.

That did not occur during the previous season, thus the Cowboys rookie class of 2019 needs to be improved.

It will be up to these young players to take the Cowboys to the next level this season, with fresh voids in the squad created by Dallas’ idle free agency performance and lingering flaws from 2023.

The takeaway is that there are high expectations for this Cowboys rookie class in 2024, both on the offensive line and in Mike Zimmer’s new defense.

Which of them will rise to the occasion and be the most successful in their first season?

Tyler Guyton, left tackle
This subject cannot be asked without bringing up Tyler Guyton, the first-round selection.

With the 27th choice in this year’s draft, the Cowboys selected the former Oklahoma Sooner, making him the star of their rookie class. This came after the organization parted ways with a franchise legend in Tyron Smith. Thus creating a massive hole at the left tackle spot that they then chose to fill with the raw talent of Guyton. Comparisons to Tyler Smith immediately came from his drafting, though this Cowboys rookie may face some stronger challenges in his first year. Guyton is much more of a project than Smith was coming out of Tulsa. He will need time to adapt to the NFL, though he seems eager to get to work.It won’t be shocking if Guyton ends up as the best Cowboys rookie in 2024. However, I don’t think it is fair to bank on that solely because of his title as a first round pick. It won’t be a cakewalk for Guyton in his rookie campaign, and it may take some time before we can get really excited about his on-field performance.

Football player, Marist Liufau
In 2024, if any Cowboys rookie performs significantly better than expected, I’m betting on Marist Liufau, a third-round choice.

Many could not see the connection between Liufau and Dallas after graduating from Notre Dame.

Although there was a clear need at linebacker going into the 87th pick, the media and fans felt that picking a running back at that spot was the best course of action.

Many people had the same reaction when Liufau’s name was called: who?

We have been learning more about the young linebacker’s outstanding traits and potential over the past several months, and boy, is there a lot to like about him.

His athleticism is excellent for the position, he is said to have some of the highest football IQs of any player in the 2024 draft class, and he fits the Zimmer defense almost perfectly.

Dallas desperately needs linebackers, so he might see a lot of playing time immediately away.

In 2024, expect this Cowboys rookie to play, and play well.

Cooper Beebe in the center
Last but not least is Kansas State’s Cooper Beebe, a third-round selection and fan favorite.

For whatever reason, the fan base has taken a shine to this guy, and as his rookie season progresses, that affection may only intensify.

My personal favorite draft pick in this Cowboys rookie class was Beebe.

To put it plainly, Dallas made a terrific draft choice by selecting him where they did. There is just no way he should have been available where he was. His unwavering work ethic, ability to play in the NFL, and potential make him the focal point of the future.

The center position needed to be replaced because Tyler Biadasz was leaving in free agency to play in Washington, D.C. The offensive coaches for the Cowboys vigorously pursued Beebe.

How will his rookie campaign compare to the rest of the Cowboys rookie class is the current issue.

The best option, in my opinion, to have an outstanding rookie season is Beebe.

He does need to work through certain developmental issues. He wasn’t a first-round pick, after all.

But given the way Dallas develops its offensive linemen, there’s a good chance that this rookie for the Cowboys will be the next great one.
