Michael Pezzetta, who has a separated shoulder, battles Ryan Reaves.

Fearlessness has been demonstrated by Michael Pezzetta since joining the NHL. The supporting-role Habs forward understands that working hard is how he makes his (highly taxed) money.

Ultimately, he has established his reputation by being aggressive and uncompromising.

Thus, it should come as no surprise that Pezz isn’t exactly heartless. He’s willing to take on any challenge, even if it means going up against powerful opponents.

Of course, one of those who has put down the gauntlet against Pezzetta is Ryan Reaves.
In an interview with Cam & Strick Podcast, Pezzetta discussed his initial altercation with Reaves, which happened during his NHL rookie season.

The striker now reveals something really intriguing: he fought that battle with a separated shoulder. Hurt.

It was, in fact, Pezzetta’s first NHL bout, having made his Bettman Circuit debut only a few days prior. A few days prior, he had scored his first point. and he sustained a significant shoulder injury during this same game.

He was frightened of losing his spot in the spotlight, so he didn’t want to go on the injured list since he had just joined the NHL. He thus “hidden” his injury, and in the ensuing contests, he not only scored his first goal but also raised his hand to fight Reaves for the first time in his professional career.

Making your Bettman debut against a player who is known for being one of the NHL’s most intimidating tough guys and has a separated shoulder is a mix of bravery and insanity.

While it’s unfortunate that he had to conceal his injuries in order to keep his NHL job, it also demonstrates his willingness to go to great lengths to remain with the major league team.

And nobody can deprive him of that.
