NBA Media Day 2024 Viral Looks

NBA Media Day serves as a prelude to the upcoming season, providing a platform for athletes to display not only their excitement for the upcoming season, but their style and brand partnerships as well.

Players like LeBron James and his son Bronny, Jimmy Butler and Ja Morant had a chance to showcase new styles.

Bronny James made headlines at the 2024 NBA Media Day by joining his father, LeBron James, making them the first active father-son duo in NBA history. Bronny was drafted 55th overall by the Los Angeles Lakers. Jimmy Butler surprised fans by opting for a straightforward, no-frills look, a stark contrast to his previous audacious appearances. Known for his bold style choices, the Miami Heat shooting guard went for a much more subdued look.

Butler’s 2023 “Emo Jimmy” look remains one of his most talked about NBA Media Day looks. Sporting long, straight hair with a side-swept bang, he embraced a dramatic aesthetic that transcended sports circles and landed him a role as a cowboy in a Prince-inspired getup for Fall Out Boy’s “So Much (for) Stardust.”  He also made headlines during 2022’s NBA Media Day with his two-toned dreadlocks.

Steph Curry, a perennial favorite both on and off the court, opted for the Under Armour Unisex Curry Splash 24 Suede Basketball Shoes in Rebel Pink. The shoes, which dropped mid-September, are part of Curry’s ongoing collaboration with Under Armour, which began in 2013.

Tyrese Haliburton caused some conversation on social media following his 2024 NBA Media Day appearance by wearing Prada’s 2022 spring Square-Toe Slip-On Loafers. This bold choice, in line with the corp-core trend, stood out among the usual athletic footwear sported by fellow athletes.

Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant, a two-time NBA All-Star, debuted the Nike Ja 2 “Induction” sneakers. Fans first got a look at the colorway when Morant was honored by the Murray State Racers’ Hall of Fame in July. The sneakers feature a distinctive Cobalt Bliss upper, accented with claw marks over the Swoosh logos.

Nike recently launched Morant’s second signature sneaker line, available in five colorways. This line builds on the success of its predecessor and will have new colorways released throughout the NBA season.
