The son of former Wigan Warriors, Leeds Rhinos and St Helens legend, Kevin Iro, appeared set for a move to the Tigers.
However, the move never happened, with Iro junior electing to stay at the Sharks and attempt to break into their first-team squad. That gamble has paid off, with Iro now forming a crucial part of the table-topping Sharks squad.
But with Iro’s contract set to expire at the end of the 2024 season, speculation about where his future lies is beginning to hot up again. Speaking in Australia, Iro has provided a major update on his future.
Speaking to Zero Tackle in Australia, Iro has now provided an update on his future. Whilst his preference is to stay with the Sharks, Iro has not yet agreed a new contract. His long-term future remains undecided.
“There’s always that thought there, but at the same time, I wanted to stay at this club, and obviously, I want to be there,” Iro stated
