PSG midfielder Carlos Soler will have a high risk of injury should he move to Everton or another Premier League side, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that the Spain international’s lack of game time coupled with the fact that he’ll move to a higher-intensity league will mean an increased chance of fitness issues.
The Toffees have made an inquiry over the availability of the 27-year-old as they aim to sign him before the 30 August deadline. [HITC, 23 August]
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Soler:
“There will be a higher risk of injury as his game time last season was erratic and also the transition from Ligue 1 to the Premier League is quite a big one.
“The key will be gradual adaptation in training and match minutes along with building up his fitness to address differences in league demands.
“It would be wise to bring him off the bench in the first few games before starting him week in and week out.“
Soler’s ability to operate across midfield positions would provide the Toffees with much-needed dynamism, especially in the final third where his creativity and decision-making could unlock defences.

They lack that kind of player in the heart of their midfield and while Andre Gomes could do it, his injuries in recent seasons gave him very little chance to showcase his talent.
The PSG midfielder’s experience in high-pressure environments, like La Liga and the Champions League, equips him to handle the Premier League’s challenges and he’ll be a good signing for the Merseyside outfit.
