As Kentucky looks to fill out its roster for the upcoming season, many think the Cats would like to use one of their final scholarships on either Jaxson Robinson or Wooga Poplar, both of which are still testing the NBA Draft waters.
There’s a small possibility Kentucky could land both of them, but landing only one remains the most likely, which would leave a scholarship still available.
Zack Geohegan from Kentucky Sports Radio recently outlined three possible candidates for such a scenario.
Four-star wing Will Riley seems like the most likely candidate. The 6’8 wing has drawn a lot of interest from Mark Pope, and the buzz around a reclassification to 2024 has been getting louder. Riley is known as a shot-maker, a guy with a lot of length who can knock down shots at multiple levels and is one of the top scorers in the class.
Eye-catching stuff from Will Riley in EYBL. Averaging over 21 points, some ridiculous shotmaking from 3 levels. Getting to spots, hitting tough jumpers, excellent float touch. Measured almost 6-9 in shoes at Hoop Summit. Not too physical, explosive or long but really impressive… pic.twitter.com/wfYpCTVvlO
Riley is expected to visit Kentucky in June, and with the way Pope has made him a priority, Kentucky seems like a strong contender in this recruitment.
Darryn Peterson and Jasper Johnson are both names to keep an eye on, but as of now, I think Jasper stays in 2025 with Peterson being the wild card.
