Stephen Curry chooses Drake in their rap feud over Kendrick Lamar.

Regarding the rappers’ earlier-year spat, Stephen Curry is more on Team Drake than Kendrick Lamar.

Stephen Curry has chosen to support Toronto sensation Kendrick Lamar over Drake in their infamous feud from earlier this year. Curry stated to GQ Sports’ Joseph Bien-Kahn that he remains a Drake admirer and hasn’t allowed the public perception of his rivalry with Kendrick Lamar to interfere with his devotion to the artist.

“I love Drake a lot. I have for a very long time. I mean, you obviously understand what that means for the rap industry, but Drake and I still rock. Completely. Completely.

Curry’s publicist, who was there for the interview, appeared nervous about answering the question, but Bien-Kahn noted that Curry nevertheless responded when prompted. Curry is obviously not listening to Kendrick Lamar’s advise.

In response to some awkward and shady charges he leveled at the Toronto native, Kendrick Lamar advises NBA players LeBron James and Stephen Curry to “keep the family away” in his song “Meet The Grahams.” Curry, however, was unfazed by these remarks and kept riding for the “6-God.”

“LeBron, keep the family out of here. Curry, please keep the family out.”

Since March of this year, the two rap megastars have been involved in a highly publicized dispute that has resulted in back-and-forth songs and shootings. Throughout this conversation, a number of NBA players—both current and former—have mentioned names, including LeBron James, Stephen Curry, John Stockton, and DeMar DeRozan.

DeRozan, who still loves and admires Drake and their friendship from when DeRozan was a member of the Raptors, expressed the exact opposite view, referring to Kendrick Lamar as his family.

Several NBA stars were photographed at Kendrick’s enormous Juneteenth event, including Russell Westbrook, DeMar DeRozan, James Harden, and LeBron James. Curry, who is an Oakland resident, chose not to travel to Los Angeles to cheer for the Compton native.

Curry has supported Drake in the feud over fellow Californian Kendrick Lamar, even though Lamar also lives in California. Curry and Drake have been pals for a long time, and Drake has frequently mentioned Curry in his songs.

Curry and Drake Have Previous NBA Experience
Although Drake was mentioned favorably by Stephen Curry in this interview, their relationship hasn’t always been favorable. During the 2019 NBA Finals, when Curry and the Golden State Warriors were playing the Toronto Raptors, Drake’s home team, there was evident tension and enmity between them.

Drake was courtside at every Raptors home game, vocally supporting the team while in attendance. Drake’s involvement did not stop there, though, as he was frequently observed taunting and jeering Warriors players, particularly Stephen Curry, who got in his face during a game.

Drake even took the mind games a step further by dressing as Stephen Curry’s father Dell Curry’s Toronto Raptors jersey from his playing days. Despite Curry’s outstanding play throughout the series, the Warriors and Curry would ultimately fall short against the Raptors in six games to lose the NBA championship. There was obviously no ill will between Drake and Curry based on their exchange of words. Furthermore, Curry’s decision to side with Drake over Kendrick throughout this feud only serves to strengthen their bond.
